4 page weird insert in a comic

Reading an old issue of either Karate Kid or Superboy & LSH yesterday (mid 70's) I was gobsmacked to see a totally weird insert inside the comic.

 

4 pages long on glossy colour paper for jewelery. Never seen anything like it in any other comic I have ever read.

 

Can't say which issue offhand since I read a lot of issues yesterday then put them all back away and don't want to have to move loads of boxes to get them back out again.

 

But was this normal across the range of all other comics for that month ?
