How bad does cgc hammer a sub crease?

Maybe I should be more specific. Do they generally prohibit a book going higher than say a 5.0 or has anyone seen exceptions?

This subject gets raised periodically, and I recall the general consensus being 4.5/5.0 being the max grade when there's a color breaking crease running the length of the book.

Hmm what about no color break and it has been pressed relatively smooth?

I had an Avengers 4 with a crease like that. It was a 6.0.

Depends how bad it is. Looking in the asm collecting thread. Jimbo posted an asm 4 5.0 that looked like a 9.0 due to a sub crease

I just got a bunch of really nice silver comics in that all have sub creases. They are other wise 8.5 to 9.0.

 

So these would get lowered to 5.0s probably?

I think the book would have to be seen.....sub creases can exist on a wide range of conditions.....it would have to be a case by case basis....a calculus type equation and not just a simple and generic factor.....GOD BLESS...
