Another way to look at it is by listing "Not CGC" you may be doing someone a favor as you are offering them more books that they may not have seen otherwise, that they may be interested in purchasing. Just a thought. -----Sid 893scratchchin-thumb.gifconfused-smiley-013.gif

The people who report it as spam really don't think so. Sellers might as well as put "Not CGC" on hardcore porno because they may be doing someone a favor as they are offering them something that they may not have seen otherwise, that they may be interested in purchasing. I highly doubt that the motive of the sellers who put "Not CGC" in the titles are really looking to do anything except increase the hits that they receive on the auction.

And don't forget, there are plenty of people out there, perhaps less savvy than us board members, but that still just want to be able to buy an impartially graded book and don't really care who the impartial grader is, so long as they are impartial.

All the more reason not to do it.

When there's another *impartial* service out there, you might have a point.

Frankly I view thsi perspective as nonsense. This and like posters would have readers believe that all of your searches come up pure. You can't run a search for CGC right now without coming up with dozens or even hundreds of non-CGC items. Let's get off the holier than thou kick...can we please?

All sellers want the most possible views, sellers want the most possible choice. I don't think anybody is really offended when more items than exactkly what they were looking for comes up, they just narrow the search.

Within just the last two weeks at least 40 auctions ENDED ( not yanked by eBay ) that stated "not CGC". Obviously, the SPAM police in this community have not been doing a very good job. Understanding the scope of the problem, it maybe that some here with plenty of time can go report them all. There are about 30-40 current auctions of the exact sort right now. Just do a search on "not CGC". When you come off your platitude, please let us know the results.

For those that are really offended by the word CGG or "not CGG", you can even set a filter to eliminate the results that match... Just think, without even reporting it to eBay, you can eliminate the SPAM all by yourself!

What would we do without governiong bodies... foreheadslap.gifforeheadslap.gifforeheadslap.gif
