PGM ASM 102 one staple ????????

This is a weird one as it appears to only have one staple and the one that is in there seems rather strange.

nothing strange there as far as the top staple and missing bottom staple is just a production error.

Pretty common in much older books. Obviously it happened in the `70's too.

Yes, besides in those "perfect binding" thick books the staples were somewhat adjunct, not actually needed, since the cover is glued to the pages.

I agree it appears in the 5.0/5.5 range. Too much wear to be a solid F (6.0)

I suppose they put them in to keep the inner book more firm, or maybe they are in place of a regular binding process. Any way, the cover is glued, that’s why often is *badly* glued.
