There is a rule on the maximum area which could be missing, from any given (low) grade. I seem to recall Fair allows one third of the cover missing (which, honestly I would call Poor).

Since the piece out is not so big, and affects little the characters, I would say some could call this a G+ 2.5, but I wouldn’t go past a G 2.0. :blahblah:

BTW, isn’t there a single copy of this book (which I love) where the black ink actually covers the other three process inks?

Most of the covers look like the black wasn’t printed as the last color, rather it seems the cyan and yellow plates have been printed last, and the result is the line art on the Dragon Man is toned down. Or maybe it was just a problem of letting the inks dry properly, I am a graphic designer but not a printing expert.
