PGM: Giant X-Men #1

Not the greatest, but still a key. Bought it to flip it; trying to get a general idea of grade.

 

Along with what you can see from the scans:

 

 

• No tears on the spine, though some chipping on BLFC spine
• Tear on FC through the 'I' in GENESIS
• Staples very secure; no rust

This is a toughy. I'll say a 2.0 as well. Could be a 2.5, I guess, cause it looks pretty solid; just a bit dirty.

It also looks like there is a spine split on the bottom front.

 

For the dirt, all-over surface wear, the tear and split, and the tape pull from hell, I'd say

2.5

 

 

If there is no split maybe 3.0, but that sure looks like a split.

Yes, it's too bad about that tape job. Definitely needs a good cleaning, though I haven't had the nerves to do it yet.

 

Not sure on the terminology just yet, but on the spine there is a piece missing from the wrap. You can see part of it by the bottom-left scroll on the cover. Don't know if it is considered a spine split or something else; I called it chipping in my original post.
