Opening a slab just to get a witnessed sig and keeping the original grade?

This is probably a stretch, but hear me out.....

 

Say you have a CGC certified comic graded 9.6 (blue label) and you want to get Stan Lee to sign it at a show but not loose the grade. Could you open the slab in front of a CGC rep, get the witness sig, and keep the 9.2 grade without a regrade? (risking a lower grade)

Any book you remove from the slab to get signed has to be resubmitted for grading. Unless you want to keep it raw.

You could always get the artist to sign the slab & take a picture of the artist with it.

Hmmm...now that's an idea. Preserve the comic, get the sig, and have a pic to prove it. I like your style sir.
