Two things to note: Both staples are still in the book and the upper left corner of the back cover is actually torn off completely, but I still have the piece. it was barely attached when I obtained the book but fell off while putting into into a sleeve

BTW, how I hate when such things happen: I still remember each and every book I personally ruined with my bare hands!

I have ruined some books trying to flatten creases or improve spine rolls.

Memo to myself: never do that again!
