Amazing Spider-Man #46

Could anyone give me their thoughts on this issue? It is incredibly nice, almost perfect except for a stain on the back cover by the top staple. I'm not sure what kind of stain it is. If it's a water stain, it's been pressed out somehow as the book is completely flat, no rippling/waviness of any kind. also the stain doesn't go through the cover to any of the pages. Pages are offwhite. I'm not used to having a book that is so pristine but then having one defect and it be a pretty significant one, so not sure how to grade it.

way too small of scans to give a grade but that stain could be anything from water to tea to coffee...don't matter since the grade deduction will be the same.

 

for sure you can rule out 9.0 and above regardless of how niche the rest of the book is.

Yeah I realize the pictures are not the best but I was more interested in the impact of this kind of flaw on a high grade book. Like just assume this is a 9.4/9.6 book without the stain, what would the stain drop it too.

If the book is really flawless (i.e. no serious spine stress, no creases at all, etc.) could reach a VF/NM as etanick told you, otherwise you’d have to start to subtract.

Picture is truly too small to judge.
