Amazing Price

Sorry if this has been discussed already but ive only just noticed this:-

Now i have seen some high prices lately for iconic pieces of artwork which was to be expected but this price caught me by surprise when i saw it. I know its a splash page of the Silver Surfer by Kirby but i dont recall other splash pages of the Surfer by any other artist going for this much so im assuming that the overriding factor that contributed to such a high price was the fact that it was done by Kirby, no?

I always enjoy how dealers/auction houses use the term advanced collector in the description. Sounds so much better then whale, rich sob, or here comes the new addition to my house.

That is a fantastic aggressive price realized that does not even have Dr Doom "Doomsday" on it.
