Wow, that has a Lugosi/Universal horror vibe.

What I get from seeing these covers is that women wore almost nothing in the 20s and 30s and were always getting themselves into some sort of dire situation where they were bound. Now I know what the old timers refer to as "the good old days".

The sequel to Universal's 1931 Dracula film was called Dracula's Daughter and was released on May 11, 1936. Since this is the June '36 issue of Weird Tales, perhaps editor Farnsworth Wright was trying to piggy-back on the publicity?

That St. John's cover seems similar to his cover for Amazing.

I'd like to share my growing Weird Tales collection and didn't want to clog up the "I'll Pound You to a Pulp" thread, so I'm starting this new thread. I hope you enjoy it. :)

Very nice!

Did you win any of Frank Robinsons pulps at auction?

The Weird Tales entire group sold as one lot in the Robinson auction unfortunately.

I was hoping they wouldn't meet reserve and then be auctioned in smaller or even individual lots, but alas no. I bid on the Magic Carpets but came up short.

With the WTs out of play everybody had plenty of money to go big on everything else. No real bargains in that auctions.
