Older books would have a yearly Ownership record, with both copies printed and copies sold. This record was published once a year. If you search MyComic Shop's back issues, they note which issues the statement is in..

Krause publications sells a book that has the information as well.

As a note- many,many copies that are listed as unsold an destroyed were actually not destroyed and have found their way to the after market.
