I think the Spidey movie run will only be considered a trilogy if:

#3 dissapoints terribly and is the last one, and

Harry becomes GG completing a cycle tying them together.

 

My guess is that Spidey movies will keep coming out until the money sponge is fully squeezed of all life. So we may see 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7. All depends on when bad ideas take over, the public tires of superheros escapism for movies, or casting/tech switches that sap enthusiasm for the run. If/when Tobey quits will be one big hurdle, and as in XMen franchise, if/when Raimi leaves another. Not insurmountable... but challenging to overcome.

 

Oh... I just meant "trilogy" in terms of THIS arc... I can't imagine they would try to drag it out further after the "big reveal" at the end of SM2. Yeah, obviously they would be totally nuts to walk away from a franchise like this after just three movies!
