Clues to help Senormac (and anyone else):

1. You can generally tell if a book is pre-UPC (1976 and before) and post-UPC (1976 and after) if there's a UPC box "gap" in the boxes you can guess. For example...the book above almost certainly a pre-1976 book, because there's no UPC box gap.

Not foolproof, but usually works.

2 The logo/title are blocked out, for obvious reasons. Sometimes, you can sorta kinda imagine the logo.

3. Creator names and cover text are usually blocked out. This is also a subtle hint.

:)

Yes.

Here's the book with the grid overlay (minus the AF15) so you can visualize what Rocky explained above.

I omit any squares that would give the book away too soon, but their omission give clues.

The Grid Game

Rules
1) There are a total of 150 Zones. Some will be available for play, some will not. The playable zones will be specified.
2) The first person to post a zone request number after each grid is posted will be chosen. (There's no need to hurry - pick a good zone).  You do not have to take turns.
3) Zones will be revealed until someone correctly specifies the comic book.

Ok...here's a new one.
