Action 1 - Charlie Sheen

30 posts in this topic

I don't think any "collections" deserve any names on them. Pedigrees, as I understand how they are defined, should be noted on the label. Just because you submit thousands of books to CGC shouldn't allow you a special "From the collection of" noting.

Right on, Shield. It leads to thinking like this, as written in the auction: "the piece will come with a letter of authenticity from Mr. Sheen himself identifying it as the one and only “Sheen Copy.” That makes this one of the most special Action 1’s and one of the most desired comic books extant."

So it sounds like all Mr. Sheen has to do is buy a comic book and then flip it, because it is now one of the most special and desired specimens of that book. confused.gifgrin.gif

Charlie just sold off an unholy expensive sports memorabilia collection in Lelands' All Star Game auction. Guess he just got sick of collectibles confused-smiley-013.gif

It's not his decision, Denise is cleaning house!

Needed the extra space for a kiddie room.

if thats true, thats kinda sad. Shes successful and worth millions. Hes successful and worth millions, ... theye need a little more room so shes says throw away your funny books? ... so he does it? There are so many other solutions to "too little space" that they could do.

So Im sure he just stopped getting enjoyment out of them, and let them go.

I'm not sure where you guys got this information, but it clearly goes a lot deeper than that. Sheen has always been kind of a Peter Pan-like character who just never wanted to grow, but now that he's a father, things have changed big time.

Having kids is the most life-altering thing a person can do, and it does change priorities pretty fast, but gives back tenfold in other ways.

I believe it's more a "time to move onto the next phase of my life" kind of deal, and it's something that many other collectors have done. Plus, Sheen has enough money to buy a separate mansion for his comic books if need be.

Not sure where you got your information. Did Charlie call you and tell yoou that? I know you have all sorts of inside information, perhaps this is part of it. What you said may be true, but it does coincide with him only selling one book. If it was indeed the "moving on with life" scenario, he would unloading much more than one book.

He's sold off a lot more of his "childish pursuits" than just a comic or two:

Not to mention he's stopped dating porn stars, hitting rehab centers on a weekly basis, shooting his girlfriends, frequenting cat houses, and a few other things.

Sold! at $45,100 - approx. 40% of unrestored FN. not too bad for Charlie!

Of course it sold. There was no reserve...

And I kinda thought that price was weak, given the grade and the amount of restoration. Cripes, good guide is 38k.
