My current top five for Modern artists

 

no specific order

 

1) Greg Capullo

 

2) David Finch

 

3) Alex Maleev

 

4) Ivan Reis

 

5) Steve Epting

 

These next guys are so close to breaking into my top five J.H. Williams III , JG Jones, Tony Daniel, Chris Bachalo, Mark Bagley and Tony Moore.

4) M. Brooks

1 Jim Lee (truely started my love for comic artwork)

3 John Byrne (taking modern as including the 80's)

 

4 Arthur Adams (again 80's there...)

The 80's was thirty years ago.

 

They are still "moderns" to me, but I assumed this list was for the last 10 year or so. Otherwise the list is much harder to narrow down.

If I dropped Todd off the list, who would I add hm

 

I love a couple of board all-stars, Anthony Castillo and Bill Dinh. Those guys are both in my top 3 favorites.

Mine were from 1998 forward. If we go back farther than that, it is a whole different ball game.

I know.... Simonson is older, but he did some modern stuff and I think of him like Adam thinks of Eastman. So he's on my list.
