DD 46 8.0

WOO HOO!!! :whee:

I detoxed from the internet this weekend. Didn't even touch the computer after church Sunday morning until this morning. (Which is kind of funny considering I have a sales thread in mixed) Decided I would take a minute before work to take a look and was only 90 something pages behind in this thread! Thanks again to all that put this together I have enjoyed participating two years in a row now :applause:

OH MAN! I got a box on my front porch when I came home this evening and when I opened it up I found these two great Daredevil books, but that wasn't all. A GREAT collection of early Hulk books and a TOS book, totally unexpected! Greatly appreciated! :applause: Thank you for making my day! :whee:

Big thanks to Mr.Diggler for his generous donation!! :applause:

So let me just say about Greggy's box...be ready to do some heavy lifting if you should ever win one of these. Definitely not something for a chicken liver cream puff to go trying to lug around that's for sure!

Once I figured out I won this box I shoot Greggy a PM to let him know my shipping address and his response is "What the Hell do you collect anyway?" lol So I sent him back a vague response with a few series/eras etc and no matter what he'll lead you to believe he did take a good time of effort into putting this together to cater to my collecting preferences. It really was a lot of fun opening.

So there were I think eight (maybe six, but I'm pretty sure it was eight) bundles bubble wrapped and taped shut inside this box. One of them I could see through the bubble wrap and there was a very familiar image on it.

So once I unwrapped it I thought "Man what could this be???" Needless to say I was pretty excited when I opened it, but I'll get back to that in a minute.

One thing I was a little surprised to see, but surprised in a good way were a collection of these Conan books. I've never once considered collecting these, but now that I've got a good start on a run I may just in fact do it. Really cool artwork on the covers!

So then there were comics! I told greggy in that PM that I was highly interested in Amazing Spider-Man, Marvel Team Up, bronze age Marvel horror and any Marvel that had a 20 cent cover. Something about the covers in that era that just really really appeal to me. There was also a set of Batman pins from 1989 that I think I'm going to give to my five year old son one day when he's being extra good, he loves loves loves Batman! So here's some additional pictures of the comics included. Including five copies of Avengers 200. I was starting to wonder just how many there were going to be lol when I got to the fifth copy.

From what I can tell, I haven't gone through and graded everything, but none of these are low grade beat up copies by any stretch. All came nicely bagged and boarded. I don't know about the rest of you but I rarely ever see 20 cent Daredevil comics in a LCS unless it's just mangled, so again very nice surprise by the assortment of books and the over all high quality. So thanks greggy!

Oh yeah...almost forgot to say what was in the bag! doh!

Well take a look!

Still shrink wrapped hardcover Walking Dead Compendium One. I believe if I'm not mistaken it's the SDCC variant with the Gold label. I don't know whether to open it or to keep it sealed up! It is my favorite item from the box for sure, but everything in there was super awesome!

So thanks again greggy!

:o

Just awesome, any collector would be thrilled to have won that gift. Greggy, you are truly generous!

I collect German comics, and I love Batman, and Guillem March is my favorite artist. This pretty much rules. However, it gets better!

I literally squealed when I saw this! A sketch of Huntress by Guillem March!! I can't begin to express how surprised and humbled I am by the kindness of both Jeffreykli and Black Lantern for making this happen. You both rock! :applause::luhv::headbang:

I picked TheShadowKnows and his mystery box from the raffle and man am I glad I did.

Dennis messaged me and asked me what I liked?

I love those Bronze marvels horror and spotlight-type series. So many good memories.

He nailed it.

Tons of great Astonishing Tales, Marvel Spotlights, Amazing Adventures

Second_zpsebcdaecb.jpg

Tales to Astonish, Marvel Feature, AND a signed Mike Allred Madman book...showing that Dennis is psychic too. Last but not least a package of my favorite Fun Yet poly bags. :applause:
