CPI(M). The Communist Party of India (Marxist) emerged from a split from the Communist Party of India in 1964. The strength of CPI(M) is concentrated in the states of Kerala, West Bengal and Tripura. As of 2009, CPI(M) claimed to have over 1 million members. Such hammer and sickles are ubiquitous in the villages of West Bengal. It was they who first offered then withdrew Lucina's scholarship when I first met her.

Sorry not to have stayed on top of this thread. So may things I want to post, so much gets in my way....

 

It was the summer of 2006...the Muslim festival of Eid, and the girls all decided to get dressed up in their finest...sisters, cousins, daughters and mothers...and a rather reluctant brother...my elective family...
