"Grade" has almost become a desired "thing" unto itself, but the System still works best as a communication shorthand. Just be the eyes and hands of the person who isn't there to examine the book for themselves. If you see something, say something.

 

Go read the thread about rusty staples found on encapsulated higher grades. Don't do that. Take your best shot at determining "Grade", but focus on communicating so an understanding takes place. It's why "grade" was developed in the first place, since old mail order ads charged by the word.
