I agree that it was different, but I feel like it had some great characterization and the additional backstory was phenominal. So far the pacing has been excellent, I haven't felt like any parts have been the result of decompression. Hickman is also doing a great job of introducing us to this world without giving us a weekly dose of exposition to begin every issue. I truly am hooked on this book. The art is also a 10/10 to me.
