When I clicked on that auction link it referred me to this other auction as well:

The signature doesn't look like a typical Stan Lee autograph, nor does the rendering of a Stan Lee Spider-Man doodle.

I wonder if the Dilko piece's Stan Lee autograph was even real either.

Yeah, I think now-a-days if paying big dollars for a signature/autograph, unless you witness it yourself or you want to eventually retain it as an investment piece for future resale, you need to get some sort of trusted authentication.

Here's examples of some STAN LEE authentic autographs:

A VERY bad forgery. (tsk)

He never leaves his home, YET he ventured out to sign a crayon drawing...Yep, I can believe that.

I think that, until lately and maybe still, Mr. Ditko walks to his office every day. He is not a hermit though.

That doesn't class as a forgery, its child's drawing, no?

I was referring to the Stan Lee signature. :gossip:

ebay really needs to clean up the original art listings. remove "production art" photocopies and outright fakes

Seriously! I was looking at Kirby OA today and about 80% of it was NOT OA. it was those bs transparencies and fake production stats, you name it. There. Would be like five peices there if they cleaned it up.......easier to look through if nothing else
