Amazing World of DC Misinformation

3 posts in this topic

Last night I was paging through Amazing World of DC #7 (the Superman issue).

There was a nice little feature where each of the Supes-related first issues was

discussed in some detail. The article was by Jack C. Harris.

Quoting from the Lois Lane #1 segment:

"In 1954 the preview comic, Showcase, was discontinued briefly to make room on

DC's production schedule for Jimmy Olsen. However, in 1955, Showcase was back...."

"....Showcase #9 and 10 (Aug and Oct 1955)...."

I'm waiting for the bearded Spock to walk in. What kind of BS is this? 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

I can see getting a couple of years wrong (Showcase 1 was not until March 1956)

but the statement about Showcase being put on hiatus to make room for Jimmy

Olsen #1 is just flat out impossible. I can't think of any other book that this

statement could have been meant about, wasn't Showcase the first "tryout" style

DC title?
