Do you own Wizard Magazine issue 200 (Platinum)? I need your help.

42 posts in this topic

I'm putting together a database of the "top 10 hottest comics" as published each month by Wizard Magazine. I have all of the data except issue 97 and 200 Platinum. Can anyone please help me out and post the lists from those two issues this issue?

I just happen to have Wizard #200 on my shelf.... And there is no Top Ten List or whatever...

Are you certain? Every issue between 0-214 (plus 218) had a top 10 comics with the exception of a couple issues. It's usually the page before the top 10 artists and writers, usually the first page of the price guide. Sometimes they put it in weird places though.

It doesn't show up in the table of contents, but it should be in the mag.

Yep. #200 is basically ALL LISTS. See Bold. There is no Top Ten List. I just paged through it. They say there is a #200 Part 2 though on sale in May. No price guide either.

You can have the issue if you want it... Just PM me your address.

Thanks for looking, must just be a special issue - has same street date as issue 199, so it looks like no top 10 in it. Sent you a PM. So, that leaves me with one issue, #97. Anyone?

Well after some more research on this #200 issue, it appears there is a gold version (with a cover date of May 2008) AND a platinum version (with a cover date of June 2008). Anyone own the platinum version? If so, can you take a peek and see if it has a top 10 comics list in it? Apparently these two issues ARE in fact different, not just different covers.

Still looking for #97 info as well.

I was doing the same thing a few years ago and lost it all to a HD crash. I'd love to take a look as my collecting has basically been buying stuff from the top 10 I couldn't afford as a kid.

It's interesting that the majority of those books you can pick up for a buck or two now - makes you wonder what that $10k 9.9 WD1 will be going for in a decade lol

Same. You just don't know how excited I was to buy a copy of Moon Knight 55. :insane:

While I cannot help you - I must say that this is pretty nice of you to put this together. I would like to see the compilation upon completion.

It's pretty fascinating, if you are into statistics like myself. I can tell you this, Witchblade 1 appears to be the "king of the hill" - 26 straight issues in the top 10 - that's insane! Other categories I am looking at are publisher, most times at the number 1 spot, and "total points" (10 points for number 1 book, 9 for 2, etc).
