[Ijiwaru Sensei]

A friend of mine and I just returned from the SPACE convention in Columbus, Ohio. What an eclectic gathering of artists, works, and people. Picked up some cool stuff--Noah van Sciver's The Hypo: The Melancholic Young Lincoln, Terry Eisle and Jonathan Riddle's With Only Five Plums, Mark Justice's The Adventures of Grammar Man, Eric Adams' Lackluster World, Victor Dandridge and Ren McKinzie's Samaritan, and John Porcellino's Thoreau at Walden.

 

And then there were more than a few oddballs. The guys who were clearly stoned out of their minds. The guy who laughed after every sentence. The exhibitors who seemed more interested in texting than talking about their works.

 

All in all, a good three hours spent discovering some really interesting and really out there works and for people watching. It was a blast.
