Showcase #22, production defect or poorly done trim job?

5 posts in this topic

This book has been previously restored professional judging from the quality of the repairs, and came to me to fix some damage it suffered.

With the cover off, looking at the inside I notice the top edge of both front and back cover do not look right. Towards the outside edges, and near the spine, the top edge is lower, could this be a production defect?

I reversed the back cover so you can compare where the cuts are. The ones by the spine seem to line up, but not so sure about the ones near the outer edge.

Wouldn't the overspray have been on the back cover, as well? Seems like that bit had been trimmed off.
