eBay rant about raw comics

These kind of e-bay listings just frustrate me !! Look at his other ones 9.9 ect..... OMG ! I tried to send a nice message, that he was misleading and off about conditions and description ......His response was that's my opinion don't bid..... rouge joins? not first appearance. I don't know where to post this if its in wrong place i apologize !

:eyeroll: I just sent him an Ebay message telling him that thing ain't nowhere near a 9.2. Gleefully awaiting his response.

Watch out he is very aggressive. Threatened me ! told me to mind my business and not to bid on his book because i was wrong . I do believe there are great books on E-bay if you know how to find them. I was just using this as an example of what not to buy. The description is wrong and misleading . I think its just a young kid or something.

What do you care,he won't sell it for anything near a 9.2,if a bidder is so stupid to buy it with those pics he deserved it anyway.A fool and his money.

+1

There are lots of good deals and sellers on ebay. You do have to to your DD just like you would buying from anywhere else.

I dont know guys, if a guy has 9 feedbacks and horrible looking comics? why even bother? No need to make generalizations about all the sellers because of this..

I've sold a few comics with a 9.8 estimated grade and never had a complaint, but I did have complaints from buyers who got excellent deals on G/VG/F books and had a low feedback count, so.. I could twist it around but I dont.

There are plenty of sellers out there who are doing the right thing and you can tell by their listing/inventory & feedback.. And worse comes to worse- refund!

Just saying

OK, even 4 good examples cannot discount the dozens hundreds of thousands, if not millions of crappy ones we hear about and/or have experienced personally.

Plus, I am pretty sure Dice wasn't being that serious with his post...

I agree with all sides. 9 feedback ect... I just sent a real friendly message saying maybe you should put: joins the x-men not 1st appearance.

I then received a message stating that he had 500 plus feedback as another seller????

OK and then he sent me this message:

"I HAVE MY BOOKS CONSIGNED TO 3 DIFFERENT PEOPLE IN THE U.S. AND THEY HAVE ACCEPTED THEM BASED ON THE CONDITION. RIGHT NOW, I HAVE 22 BOOKS AT CGC GETTING GRADED, SO MAKE SURE YOU TAKE A LOOK, AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A NAPKIN FOR THE DROOL. WE WILL SEE SOON ROOKIE. YOUR STARS MEAN NOTHING, WHY DONT YOU LOOK AT KERMITSPADCOMICS ON EBAY WHERE SOME OF MY BOOKS ARE. THAT IS A REAL COMIC SITE PUTTING A SITE LIKE YOURS TO SHAME. GET ON MY LEVEL."

This thread was to vent a little about E- bay. that's all. I agree there are great sellers this is not one of them.

You know what? You guys are right. Don't bother looking at ebay for quality books. Really, just stay away. You'll only get burned.

Hyperbole works both ways.

I really think your best bet for looking for 9.8 candidates is the boards.

That’s what I said, but of course it depends on ages. Many professional sellers are absolutely reliable. Just think how the market worked when there was CGC and you can see they are mostly two ways of being reassured about proper grading now: buying CGC books or buying books from sellers you know you can trust (even if merely by advice).

:insane:

Here's the response I got:

If you don't like don't bid. This comic

Is part of a pedigree collection, and the grade was first assigned by the owner of the collection. If you don't like it,

Don't bid. Pretty simple I think. Pay attention to yourself and your site. Try that.

Very professional.

How did he knew you have a site, BTW?

And all of it SCREAMED. Just great!

That "pedigree" was offered by Kermit's pad comics. Suffice it to say I've never agreed with any of the grades on anything I've ever seen for sale by them.

That guy frustrates me beyond all. He's almost as bad as Comics America. Sells books he doesn't have, cancels orders, takes your charges and ties up money, doesn't deliver.. I stay away from his dump, but that's just my experience(s) with him. I gave him multiple chances, and he's not good, at all.

Check out the "COA" in this listing. Kermit can't even spell the name of the "pedigree" correctly on the dang thing

I sold about 300 OO raw Bronze/Copper Age Marvels (mostly X-Men, Wolverine, New Mutants, and Daredevil) books on E-Bay about 12 years ago. I purposefully undergraded them so that I wouldn't get any complaints. If a book looked like a 9.8 to me, I called it NM, if it looked NM, I called it VF+, etc.

Same experience here. Comes up with all sorts of half-baked and silly delaying tactics and just wastes your time. And overgrades to a ludicrous level, as well. Only had one transaction with him however, about a decade ago. Nice to see how much he's changed.

I can't see how his "business model" deserves a second chance.
