My 450th Journal

9 posts in this topic

Now only if I had as many graded comic books.

With all kinds of lists that could be made, it's the covers list I always enjoyed. Wizard would have them in their magazines as well as CBG. So for my next list I am going to let you know what my favorite covers from the eighties are.

I would also like to know if you feel that CGC is slipping. We all know grading is taking longer but I have noticed that with their new increased quality control they lost the quality over the control. This goes from mislabeling a book, not listing an important detail, or even and most importantly not packing tho books the way they used to pack them.

Prices go up. I understand this. But maybe CGC could make an all inclusive membership tear, one that takes away the per invoice charge, gives the notes for free, and maybe gives a frequent slabbers card. The registry is fun but I am going to have to slow down what I get graded, maybe even to the point I only get signatures graded.

Then there is the best set contest. May I please suggest another category, maybe the best limited series. This could include any and all from Contest of Champions to the soon to be Released Infinity. This would be for those small, possibly overlooked well loved books.

Well, if all goes right, I'll be in New York today and if I can swing it I might stop by a comic book shop or two. Of course I can't buy anything because I will be adding a couple Stan Lee Signatures to my collection.

Thanks for Reading

I really enjoy your journals, your enthusiasm really really shines, I started writing journals because of your writing. Congratulations on the 450 mark, I cannot wait to see what your favorite ,80s covers are. Thanks for sharing all your experiences with us, I have yet to pull a book to submit, to crack a slab open, or to get a signature but with journals form you and many others on this site I have developed an appreciation for the process.

I love reading all of your postings as well.

Congrats on 450! It will take me a while to ever reach that many since I don't post as much as you. That is except for yesterday when I did three journals in one day!

Have fun in NY and good luck on that Stan Lee signing. I'm sending higher grade hopefulness your way!

As always - I love reading your journals and I relish the friendship we have built over the years.

Good luck with the Wiz and your signatures (and mine).

Let me know if you manage to get them in for on-site grading or not.

All the best!

Happy Hunting!
