Not really-- some small bubble wrap and newspaper. The problem was the box was barely wider than the book-- any impact from the top or bottom was ok, but any side impact was almost directly on the case, and the box must have gotten between two heavier items and it sort of accordianed inward. Sad, but the seller is being great about it.

wowzers hurts to look at those pics. I have had many a book get damaged sent by sellers who packed in boxes that fit too close as well. I always over-pack in large boxes because of this, especially for a book that rare I am sad for you :(
