Subscribed to Howard starting with issue 5 or 6, so I'm not sure if there was a pre-#1 ad or not. They came in a brown wrapper which my mailman folded in half to fit through our mail slot.

was that the only sub you had?

I know some people that switched back to the newstand or bought doubles.

Remember when they had the quarterly magazine for the HOT books in the late 80's early 90's?

 

Yup. This was my first Overstreet and I was hypnotized by all the information in the dang thing
