Ayers created the Ghost Rider character (inspired by the hit song "Ghost Riders in the Sky") and, while his covers are not as artistically impressive as Frazetta's on the title, they are still quite fun.

 

They aren't usually considered "horror" books but the difference between them and "horror" comics is pretty small.

Agreed. And you have the little white flying away as the man's soul is being separated from his body. It's a very grim but powerful image that is my favorite of all of Ayer's covers.
