Introductory reflection, a but hurried up but at least it looks pretty fair.

I guess I just don’t see Marvel comics as a "franchise" (whatever the terms came to mean)… :sick:

 

The american Astro Boy movie was done within the "franchise" logic: they messed up Atom quite a lot, but the movie is somewhat enjoyable: it just does not have to pretend to be faithful to the original.

This is a good example, as Tezuka changed himself the stories and the single episodes as he rewrote/redrew them, and did so with the two animated series as well, but the american "franchise" was more an exercise in using the character in an independent story, ecologically-wise, to appeal the younger public. It works, but mostly hope it helps people discover the scope of Atom’s original conception – he is pretty much comparable to Marvel silver age goodness… ;)
