Was this as big a steal as it looks??

There are still lots of bargains to be had in GA, especially if you

will settle for slightly restored books. I just went through the Nic

Cage catalog and saw that a 9.0 Adventure #67 went for $3,220; the

SP 9.2(!) I got a week ago (posted a scan of it in another thread)

sold for less than a third of that. Looking through the Cage catalog,

I am amazed how many gorgeous SP 9.0 and 9.2s were listed at

almost nothing compared to their almost identical (and in some

cases less attractive) pedigree siblings.

Wow, I didn't realize G.A. Batmans were this cheap.

Compared to Timely's, golden age DC's are: a) plentiful, and b) cheap. While they're still cheaper than Marvels, silver and bronze age DC's are much, much tougher...

Granted it does have chipping but there are quite a few other obvious blemishes that disrupt the grade on this book that are quite visible on the front cover(what is that #10 in the brick anyway). And I don't buy this "marvel chipping" explaination for loose grading. By that notion, for instance, if my book has a crease it would lower the grade but if I let it deteriorate over several decades so that chipping obliterates the crease then the flaw would be allowed?
