Was hoping someone could figure out a legit price. The #1 and #8 will get something decent, but the rest aren't worth much.

i'm not even sure what a legit price is beyond the #1 and #2 -- $5k would seem high, maybe in today's market not.... I certainly wouldn't pay it for those books.

The #8 is a very tough book in grade, with the black cover and a terrific image of Subby and the Thing.... probably the ONLY book in the run worth anything really (the #1 is quite common in high grade). But, I wouldn't buy the run just for that book, and definitely not anywhere near THAT price.

 

I've got a nice #8, by the way, but I haven't graded it yet. At least a 9.4... maybe a 9.6, but I haven't taken it out and looked at it in years.

There are 10 9.6's, and 16 9.4's. Not too tough from where I'm sitting....

Submission bias. I'd venture a guess that the demand for that cover/book is a lot more than 26 people, especially since it's in the price range that a lot of people can afford.
