The Copper 100: The Most Important Marvel Comics (1984-1991)

Just a suggestion, and these may be listed elsewhere, but going with the top 50 or 75 story arcs may work too. That way you don't run into problems like including only 4 of the 6 Kraven's Hunt books (Web books were left off). You aren't so worried about numbers of individual books that way, and you don't arbitrarily leave important issues of those stories off.

Edit: saw they'd been added since I last looked. Rest of point remains.

I would add all daredevil born again issues, not just 227. absolute classic daredevil story

I have to agree. More than some of those reprint issues.

I struggled cutting out the Born Again storyline (and the Punisher Limited Series). But you're right, that entire arc is worthy.

I made sure that all the Kraven books were on there from the beginning. That was one of my favorites growing up.

I think part of the fun of this is finding a way to limit it. But I see that I'm running into some problems balancing stories with just key/valuable issues. I'll need to rework the list.

Here's an updated list, with a new title that (hopefully) captures the idea that it includes key issues as well as key storylines.

Went ahead and added all issues for the limited series titles, plus Avengers Under Siege, and Daredevil Born Again, plus Silver Surfer 34. Not really sure about the Longshot mini or the Kitty Pryde/Wolverine mini. Thoughts?

Kitty Pryde and Wolverine is a must-own? Seriously?

(shrug) I've never actually read it. I saw it on a few lists as I was putting my own list together, and figured it must be pretty good to make it on other lists. Is it that bad?

Removing the entire series would get me closer to 100, which I like. hm

Daredevil 227-233 is definitely quality material, and a game changer.

Cutting it off at 231 to make room for Kitty Pride and Wolverine would be a missed opportunity to complete a sweet story arc.

hm

I went off memory on that one. Should've double checked my hardcover. Fixed now.

I think this list is just about ready. For storylines, my list includes Born Again, Under Siege, Kraven's Last Hunt, Punisher Limited Series, Longshot, and Mutant Massacre. (I've never read the Longshot series, so not sure if it's worth being on here.)

What am I missing?

Does the Weapon X storyline deserve to be on such a list?

Someone mentioned Scourge from Captain America...is that a good arc?

Or maybe ASM's Gang War?

And for single issues, what about New Warriors 1 or Darkhawk 1? These seem to be gaining popularity here, are they deserving?
