Apparently his origin changes as per events in ASM 499-500.

I read those issues, but I can't remember any specifics. What happened that changed his origin?

Luckily I looked at this book before I bought it. I did a quick word/page count and decided this book is nothing more than a stretched out mini-series. Marvel has really become adept at charging $3 for 1/5th of a story that should have been told in 10 pages.

 

Marvel is very quickly losing all of my business.

I liked it, but I agree with the idea it should have been called Ultimate Dr. Strange. I think this book along with She-Hulk is one of the better relaunches Marvel has put out. I will continue to pick it up. Looks like Marvel is batting .100 because it seems like only 1 of every 10 relaunches and limited series are worth the cover price.
