Rare Superman comics

Hi all,

 

Superman collectors, this is something you probably never saw.

Those are probably the first Superman comics ever published in any country outside the US.

The older one is from Belgium, dated March 2 1939. He is called Marc Hercule Moderne, in the first daily strips. The Superman strips appeared in America for the first time on January 6 1939, less than two months early.

The other two comics are Journal des Aventures 10 and 11, from March 7 and March 14 1939, the first appearance of Superman in France.

Just to compare, Superman was published in the UK in July 29 1939, five months later.

 

Newspaper size, in wonderful condition after 74 years.

 

I really don't know how to price this lot, so I'll say $250, but I'll listen to offers.
