Spirou magazine. Published weekly since 1938.

Must be getting close to 4000 issues now.

I had to look that one up.

Spirou magazine is a weekly Belgian comics magazine, published by the Dupuis company. First published 21 April 1938 as Le Journal de Spirou, it was an eight-page weekly comics magazine composed a mixture of short stories and gags, serial comics, and a handful of American comics, of which the most popular series would be collected as albums by Dupuis afterwards.

I'm guessing this also.

Number of issues 4,630 (as of August 2013)

Wow, over 4600 issues since 1961! I'd seen these before but had no idea how many issues there were. It must be a pretty popular book in the UK.

I've never read a single issue. Only bought Marvel, DC and 2000 AD as a kid.

Beano started on July 30 1938. The latest issue was #3701 which came out yesterday.

Spirou started a bit earlier, on April 21 1938. The latest issue was #3934 (which I believe also came out yesterday).

Game, set, and match.

Did I win?

If you did, I'd have to request a recount.

Was originally referring to Spirou but what in the heck is this Commando thing I see?

Edited to add: I stand educated. I had never heard of Commando but I stand in awe of its 8 issues per month.
