Hi just need a little help with a grade. I'm mostly worried about the tears at the bottom of the book. I would appreciate any help thanks

I have multiple copies and they all have the tears at the bottom

Those tears are production flaws so they shouldn't affect the grade, but they do make it unsightly and would probably affect how it sells IMHO. But I admit I'm not too experienced with how CGC treats them.

9.4 or 9.2 on a bad day

For grabber tears I have consistently seen a one increment/no down grade in the upper tiers 9.0+. So a strong 9.6 with grabber tears stays a 9.6 or what was a weak 9.2 becomes a 9.0 with larger more visible tears on FC and BC.

 

Though that is based on my own assessment of grade sans tears which can only ever be speculative.

 

Your book looks 9.4/9.6 to me.

I agree with a NM 9.4 or 9.2 if there are minor flaws invisible in the scan.

 

I think I have one without the production tears, in similar high grade. If I can dig it up, I will post it.

Thank you for the info. I bought a copy a couple months back and was bummed out it had a tear on the bottom. I was thinking of not sending it off to be graded, but now I know it will be ok!

There is a big difference between a tear and a grabber hole.
