Grail arrived - but what a price already!

GPA average on a 6.5 is $905.

How does GPA work? According to the census there is only 1 6.5 copy - the one I BINned on Ebay for $825 a little more than a year ago. I can't imagine the seller listed a BIN for less than he payed - so how does GPA come up with $905? Or is there another 6.5 that hasn't been entered into the census yet?

$835 binned in Jan 2003, the previous was $975 sold in Dec 2002 - the buyer listed it with a bin of less than his purchase.

Thanks - Man, age is taking it's toll, I bought that book back in January of 2003? And I paid $835 not $825? It sad when I must rely on strangers to clarify my memories. tongue.gif

Odd that the seller would list the book at a loss only a month after buying it.

I think this happens more often than people are willing to admit. I'm sure we have all made an impulse buy and then wonder "what the heck am I doing" five minutes later.

It happens to me a lot more than it should. I'm trying to limit my collecting to books I really want-GA Batman, Lou Fine material,etc.-so that I don't get buyers remorse.

Here here, I've done this too, but have so far resisted reselling certain books at a loss....I may yet do so, though. I've got a Gaines File Copy, for example, that I know I paid more for than I'll ever get back now or 5 years from now. But unless I'm in a financial pinch, or there's a book out there that I really need, I've been content to hold onto it so far. Even though I paid through the nose, it still looks pretty cool and all. grin.gif

Which Gaines book do you own? Maybe someone here will make you an offer you can't refuse! 893scratchchin-thumb.gif
