WTB: **UNDERGROUND COMICS**

A message to all the hoarders and closet Underground (UG) comix collectors out there... 893crossfingers-thumb.gif

Help out a fellow forumite! thumbsup2.gif

At this point in the collecting game, and based on past responses with posting wanted ads, it would appear that my chances of finding the missing few books to complete my collection on these boards are next to nil; so I guess anything that fits the following criteria would be the next best thing:

- Looking mostly for pre-76' UG's, early prints, in high-grade.

- Crumb, Corben, O'Neill, Bode, Shelton (preferred, but not excluded to just these artists)

- raw or slabbed

=================

List of Specific Issues:

=================

- Zap Comix 1 (first print)

- Zap Comix 0 (first print) -- high-grade copies preferred

- Zap Comix 2 (first print)

- Mr Natural 1 (first print) -- high-grade copies preferred

- Big Comics 1 (first print) -- high-grade copies preferred

- Air Pirate Funnies (Hell Comics, 1971); No's 1 and 2 (high-grade copies preferred)

- Fed's 'N' Heads 1 (first print)

In case you have any of the books above but are unsure how to determine prints, feel free to PM me, or email me at the address on my profile.

Thanks flowerred.gif

I've got a copy of Big that was printed in June 1969 with no # ...is this #1???...

It's not in HG but it is a respectable FN+ or so...

Hey Rick hi.gif

What colour is the box with "R. Crumb" written inside, on the lower right hand corner of the front cover?

BTW: I never heard from you whether you got the Swamp Thing #1... 893crossfingers-thumb.gif

Glad to hear you got the Swampy Rick, and that your happy with it! thumbsup2.gif

The Big Comics 1 you've got is a later printing; first prints are denoted by a white box with Crumb's name inside. If your copy is the 50 cent version, its more than likely a second print. Solid book BTW!

Having said this, I have seen several variations (I own a pink, yellow and green boxed version -- none of which have ever been documented, and are likely nothing more than printing errors), but for some reason, I've had some trouble locating first printing copies (white box). I've turned down a few copies that were VG or worse, but I haven't yet found a nice high-grade copy frown.gif
