Out of this World (Avon) from 1950 -- two number 1s ???

2 posts in this topic

Anyone know the story on the Avon one shot "Out of this World?"

This is one that just sold on Heritage.

I'm curious since the CGC Census lists TWO copies of the number 1 issue,

one from June 1950 and one from August 1950. Did they just release the

same book again a few months later?

I have a copy of the June issue and it's the same cover art as the one on

Heritage, which is the August issue. The census lists 7 copies of the June

book but only 1 of the August book.

For "robot carrying a damsel-in-distress" covers, the Startling 49 is the

one that gets all the attention, but this issue gives it a run for the money I think.

For trivia, this issue of OotW is also the book that was a color insert in Avon's

1950 pulp that was ALSO called Out of this World.
