Question about Trimming?

I received a raw book that has part of the top edge perfetly cut then the other half of the edge is normal. Would this indicate trimming or does it have to be all the way across? I'll post a scan.

Outside edge, or inside towards the spine ?

towards spine is cut very even outside is uneven.

I always look at books that have discernable wear on three sides, but one side has a nice, clean edge, as possibly trimmed.

I'll have to send it in and have CGC look at it. Take a chance. It might just be its really nice for an older book and I'm not as use to that.

OK, looking at the blown-up pic, I'd say you are OK on this. The cover starts out fine at the spine - it is even with the pages, and stays straight all the way across. I think the interior pages are starting to peek out of the top a bit as you get closer to the edge. Then again, I am no expert, and it could possibly be a "micro-trimming."
