Fantastic Four #2 CGG 4.0 Would be 9.0 without spine trauma?

51 posts in this topic

Burnt,

You would have easily had yourself a 9.0. Why does it always happen with the expensive books? Ouch.

You know, SS - not to put a damper on it but it probably only seems to happen to the expensivew books because it happening to, say, a Dazzler 17 wouldn't really have the impact so would probably remain untold.

SPov,

So true. I wouldn't admit to owning a copy of Dazzler so I can see what you mean. 27_laughing.gif

I blush. I burn. I grow fearful. I liked Dazzler. Followed her adventures like a soap opera! Now I was pretty new to collecting or even reading comics then but...she had style, class and nice gams! blush.gif

Anyone seen this:

Wouldn't the spine trauma push it down more than a 4.0?

Regardless of what we thought about the label, it sold for a nice price!

What would a straight-forward CGC 4.0 go for these days?

$600

A tad more if white pages and clean, with little or no marvel chipping.

Hmm, that's quite a premium paid for it then. Perhaps the new owner is looking to restore then re-slab? 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

was thinking the same thing - a modest amount of professional restoration and maybe get lucky and get a plod 9.2 from cgc and try to make a few bucks. not sure the money will be there for the book as is or if it got restored only to a 9.0. kinda risky, but who knows.

and then again, maybe the new owner just wamted a pretty copy with only one glaring defect,,,,,,,,,,,, 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

I think a VG 4.0 copy would sell for 650-700 now. Throw out GPA on this one.

I agree. I'm sure most people here are aware that GPA does not reflect Comic Link's data and in many cases the Link consisently realizes higher than average GPA prices on key books such as this.
