My Comic Keys experiment yeild good results!

I decided to buy a book from comic-keys and see how it would come back!

So I bought Avengers 50 from 1968 advertised as unrestored 9.4

 

It came back today from CGC and it came back as a Blue label 9.2

 

On the other hand my Captain America 100 which all I can remember is buying from someone with a good online rep came back as a PLOD..

 

Score one for the bad guy?

In this case the man sold me the book and when I got it I thought the same thing that it was trimmed!

 

But when I studied it carefully I saw it was miswrapped a bit and that could explain why it looked trimmed!

The CGC label looks in worse shape than the book!

Please post 300 dpi scans of the front and back covers. Hammer is claiming that this is the book he sold to me as a NM- 9.2 last January. I do not believe that it is. The book he sold to me (which I returned because it was obviously trimmed) was originally sold as a 9.2. So unless he's bumped up the grade (despite the slab damage) I'm guessing it's a different book. But's let's see if it is.

 

If it is the same book (which I very highly doubt), then I will have lost all faith in CGC's ability to detect trimming. As I have said previously, I gave Hammer a standing offer to buy that book at 6X NM- guide if he could produce it in a blue label slab. The offer is still good if it's really the same book and you want to sell it to me.

 

I decided to buy a book from comic-keys and see how it would come back!

On the other hand my Captain America 100 which all I can remember is buying from someone with a good online rep came back as a PLOD..

Every tiem I posted a scanned book I allways had a friend scan it for me

Hammer's story has many twists and turns to it... and for him to be right, ALL of them must be true. What are the chances of that? He sells it raw to a guy and he gets it slabbed as a 9.2. Then the guy cracks it out (??) Then he sells it and other (cracked out?) books back to Danny. And Danny puts it on ebay as a 9.4 (knowing that CGC graded it 9.2 but what do they know huh?) and it comes back 9.2 again.

 

..and Dannys a hero???? How would we ever know if its the same book he sold FFB? Or even the same book he sold that guy???

I have already confirmed with Ares that they are not the same book. Just waiting for the picture of the back cover and I'll show you my proof. But even from the front cover, the copy he sold me wasn't miswrapped like that and it didn't have the ring of toning along the outside edges that I can see in the scan.

 

Hammer is a liar. Big surprise.
