I still can't get in.

I appreciate those that could see it live want to revel in the historic moment but I agree, something went wrong here.

I couldn't and still can't get in either.   Oh well.  While the AF15 9.6 might not have been in the cards regardless, the other books are (were!) a different story.  At least this way I won't be tempted.  I give up.

Perhaps it was a DoS attack to frustrate the success of the AF15 sale in particular, which temporarily outlasted that auction and affected the ASM1.

I have some experience with this and I can tell you that a simple spike in load because of spectator interest is far more likely than a deliberate attack.

Either way, the live auction was down for much longer than ASM #1.  For me it lasted until around ASM #20, give or take.  For whatever reason, ASM #2 and up were allowed to close even though there's reason to believe potential bidders were locked out.

Agreed but why would they not have the issue fixed even if it takes 1 hour then run it with no problems.

Maybe they didn't notice the problem on their end. Not quite sure.  I didn't have any problems though viewing with the live auction.  Did you try closing the window and re-opening it after?

My price estimates after this sale within the next 12 months to 18 months.

9.6 = 3.6$ million +
9.4 = 2.75$ to 3.00 million
9.2 = 2$ to 2.5$ million
9.0 = 1.5$ to 1.75$ million
8.5 = 1$ to 1.25$ million
8.0 = 750 000$ to 900 000$
7.5 = 600 000$ to 700 000$
7.0 = 500 000$ to 575 000$
6.5 = 350 000$ to 450 000$
6.0 = 250 000$ to 300 000$

I don't think that passes the sniff test.

Plot those points on a curve.  If the slope of the curve isn't getting MUCH steeper as you get to the higher grades, I think it's way off.

Just my guess. This is not science just a gut feeling.

Well look, if we're going with "gut feeling" then let's work backwards.  Start with a 9.6 price and immediately cut it in half to get to $1.8M for a 9.4, then I would suggest going even lower because the 9.6 to 9.4 ratio seems to be well over 2x these days, especially on older books and mega keys where supply is scarce.  Also remember that the winner knows he just set the record and there is extra juice in that.  Whoever buys a 9.4 won't have that adrenaline rush.  I would put a 9.4 at or below $1.5M, but again that is just gut feel.

As much as I love AF15, at these price points I can see a lot of potential buyers being priced out of the market and purchasing ASM1 instead.

Yep same book

guess i am wrong . i thought it looked quite nice. i see the yellowing now, though i have to say the reds are deep. yellowed copies often seem to have faded reds, or at least sometimes. i do think it will do well and the lack of chipping is a big plus.

In the end my will states that my books be sold and a large part is to go towards helping opening a new animal shelter or expanding the one in my area. I love animals and more than happy one day this may come true.

And donate also to the children's hospital in my area. I don't have much family left so these are my goals. Doing some good threw my hobby/passion.

I think I just got extremely lucky winning one of the lots but I don't want to say anything yet.  I think this auction got completely screwed up and something is going to hit the fan.

K, it is over, spill the beans. Or should I just keep refreshing your sales thread? :P

99.9% of all potential buyers for this comic are in low grades I’d feel way better down there than trying to sell 3.5-6.0 range as it’s expensive

ASM 1 will for sure get huge hikes now and I’m guessing most won’t have a shot with those either ….
