PGM 3 oldies from the dawn of comics

8 posts in this topic

Here are 3 old comics that I'm pretty excited to get.

All 3 have snug covers and cf's

"The Comics" 3 seems to be in amazing shape

New Comics 12 (1/2" spine split at top, 1/4" spine split at the bottom) This comic has a full page ad for Detective comics 1.

New Comics 11 presents really well (1 1/4" split at the top, 1/4" split at the bottom)

Back cover looks creased, but those are dust shadows or sun shadows and not creases.

As a bonus pic, I can't resist showing the Robot Splash of the Federal Men strip. We're talking a 1936 strip showing cool robots!!!

I sent my New Comics 10 & 11 in to CGC.

#10 got a 3.0 Universal (with slightly brittle pages, which might be why the grade stayed low)

You guys thought:

3.0 (Dr Neff, you win)

3.5

4.5

4.5

5.5

You guys thought it would get a higher grade so I'm a little bummed it didn't go higher.

#11 got a 3.5 Universal.

You guys thought:

3.0

3.0

3.0

3.5 (ARK, you win)

4.0

You guys were all basically right on this one.

I didn't send The Comics #3 in because I want to have it pressed.
