Charleston Pedigree?

Does anybody know anything about Charleston Pedigree books?

 

I did a quick Google search and didn't come up with much. Trying to learn a little bit about the history of the collection, how it was stored, how it was found, etc. before I make a big run at a big book.

Was anything ever found on this or was (is) it just something made up to add intrigue?

Not a recognized ped (I'm assuming because the owner wasn't the OO of all the books). Here is the story from Metro - They have placed a sticker on the slabs as the Charleston copy,
