Double Shipping? Oversized Issues? Price Increases?

Is it just me or are these practices becoming more common than previous comic eras? The "Big 2" are the ones most guilty of these practices, but they aren't the only ones. Does it bother anyone else enough to cause you to drop a monthly book, or do must of you grit your teeth and bare it? Does anyone just skip the oversized issues, even if they are part of the current story?

I feel like these practices are definitely becoming more common, and its finally driving me away from characters I loved. It's not that I feel like I'll drop the books out of protest of these practices, but that I've noticed a direct correlation between these practices and my enjoyment in a title. Anyone else?

I collected Uncanny X-Men from #171 to 472 straight off the rack. Between crappy stories and a too-high cover price, I dropped all comics back then (2003, I believe.) I just wwanted to make it to #500, but I couldn't support Marvel and what they were doing.

Now I'mma sell them all.

I really enjoyed the Old Man Logan story but the Giant-Sized conclusion seemed so last minute and a bunch of cr@pppy story was jammed into a bigger book to save time. Ruined it for me. I don't see why giant sized books need to exist outside of Annuals.

But thats just my opinion.
