Question about Tec 35

20 posts in this topic

Is the cover really by Bob Kane ?

His characteristic signature is nowhere to be found on the cover. The only other example I could find is Tec 59 where label indicates Bob Kane cover but no signature on the cover either. Every other cover drawn by Kane has his signature.

If indeed he did draw the covers, why no signature ?

Thank you for your help.

I see his sig is in the logo area on #33. That might have required a little extra paste-up during production, depending.

Perhaps he did the same thing on the #35 cover and the production people forgot to handle it.

Such things occasionally happen to this day, when it turns out the sig is hidden by logo / trade dress and it has to be handled during production. I have done a few last-second  over this issue when proofing covers for press.
