DRACULA New English Library UK Mag PRE-BAGGED?

I've just scored a Dracula 5 in what appears to be a pre-sealed bag. Does anyone know if this series was distributed like this originally?

I'm not familiar with the pre-bagging. I have never gotten a copy like that. I have copies of issue #1 still with the poster inside that were never bagged (as far as I can tell).

 

Could be a custom job or from the distributor

Someone with a shrink-wrap machine could have done that at some point.

The plastic is pretty thin and I can't see where the seal was made it's certainly a pro job not an amateur heat seal. Not sure how long it's going to be before I open it!

My best guess is that some newsagent shrinkwrapped the book to keep it from being read by kids too young for that sort of stuff.

I've read elsewhere that Dracula mags were a bit of a head scratcher when it came to knowing where to display them in shops. My guess is that batches were bagged for specific chains or maybe complimentary copies.

Cool, I just scored a set of 1-12 today. Not in the condition of the 5 you have but fantastic art nonetheless. Very New Kingdom, reminds me of Kaluta or Kubert school of art. Crappy lettering and sometimes rushed but very trippy.
